The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,745 new confirmed cases of coronavirus across the state Wednesday with 31 new deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 13 new positive cases Wednesday with 146 still active and 4 hospitalizations. There were 8 new cases reported Wednesday in Knox County Indiana. There were 44 new cases in Clay County Illinois and 27 new in Crawford County. Overall since the pandemic began in Illinois, there have been 1,554,336 cases of the disease with 24,194 deaths. A total of 14,099,513 vaccines have been administered in Illinois since the vaccine rollout began with over 18,000 people receiving shots on Tuesday. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzger has modified his executive order regarding a vaccine mandate for state healthcare workers, educators and college students. It moved back the vaccination deadline from this week (Sept 5th) until Sunday September 19th. The move was made at the request of health and education groups to allow them time to set up the necessary procedures for regular testing of those who do not get vaccinated.
