The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,395 cases of coronavirus across the state Monday with 4 new deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported there were 34 positive cases of COVID-19 between last Saturday August 28th until Monday August 30th. There were only 9 cases reported Monday in Knox County Indiana–a reduction in the number of daily cases in that county. Currently the IDPH is reporting 1,518,071 cases of the disease with 23,927 deaths total. A total of over 13.9 million vaccines have been administered at sites across the state since Sunday. In a related note, the Illinois State Board of Education is expected to release it’s guidelines soon on how the vaccine mandate for all school staff will be administered and enforced. Many school districts across the state say they are at a standstill on how to move forward with verification of immunizations and setting up the testing process for unvaccinated workers.
