The Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshall says that time is running short for Lawrence County and other local and area fire departments to apply for the Illinois Fire Department COVID Relief Grant Program. Applications for the funding must be received by the end of Friday August 13th 2021. A total of $1 million will be available to assist appproximately 80 impacted fire departments throughout the state. Eligible fire department could get up to $15,000 for their use in paying for fuel for fire trucks, utilities, insurance and other necessities.
