It will cost more now for residents of the city of Lawrenceville who have their water service disconnected to get back on. The City Council Thursday evening voted to amend the ordinance governing the reconnection fee raising it from $25 up to $50 and $75 for additional reconnections. Mayor David Courtney hopes it will slow or prevent numerous actions by the city water department with habitual non-payers. The council also approved officially on second reading the annual appropriation ordinance for 2020-21 for approximately $6.2 million. They passed the annual Motor Fuel Tax Street Resurfacing Program and approved payment to Brocktee Well and Pump Service for iron removal treatment for both wells #12 and #13 in the city water well field.
