Illinois Governor J.B. Pritxger has signed a bill into law further expanding access to voting for Illinoisians. The legislation increases curbside voting, establishes permanent vote by mail registries, establishes a central polling location in counties across the state, strenghtens cybersecurity standards for elections and also establishes June 28 2022 as the new general primary election date. It builds on previous actions to protect and expand voting rights in Illinois which included extended hours to vote, expansion of the vote by mail program and making Election Day a state holiday.
