The Lawrenceville City Council met in regular session Thursday night at City Hall and did approve on first reading the annual appropriation ordinance which governs maximum city spending. The ordinance is for approximately $6.1 milllion with the city expected to spend less than that total. The ordinance will be formally approved in July. Mayor David Courtney reported that the city park pool has opened this week with the first day of operation Monday. The pool is open Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. and 1 p.m. till 6 p.m. Sundays. The cost of admission is $1 per person. Police Chief Jim White reported that a new 2015 police car has been purchased for the department fleet at a cost of around $17,000.
