Nancy L. Peterson, age 70, of Sumner, Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 09, 2021 at her residence. She was born on November 21, 1950 in Sumner, Illinois, the daughter of Kenneth and Wanda Christine (Cummins) Wagner. She married Richard Peterson on May 16, 1970, and he survives.
Nancy worked at Dean’s Office Supply in Mt. Carmel, and was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed helping with meals for the Senior Citizens, watching Chicago Cubs baseball, going to Mt. Carmel High School football games, making flower arrangements, traveling, and spending time with her animals. Nancy loved her family and friends, and enjoyed cooking large meals during the holidays.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one son, Robert Levi Peterson.
Survivors include her husband, Rick; one daughter, Jayme Hazel and husband, Richard of Sumner, Illinois; one brother, Gary Wagner and wife, Nancy of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; one grandchild, Alexis; and one great-grandchild, Emberly.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 10:00 AM CDT at the Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner, Illinois. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM CDT at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Sumner Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center & Wig Shoppe.
