The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,424 new cases of coronavirus Monday across the state with 12 new deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 2 new cases Monday bringing the county total up to 2,474. 9 cases are active and 1 person remains hospitalized with no new deaths. There were no cases reported Monday in Knox County Indiana keeping the case total there at 3,719 with no new deaths. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 1,356,391 cases with 22,235 deaths in Illinois. A total of 9,978,915 vaccinations have now been administered in Illinois since the vaccine rollout began. Monday, 70,426 shots were given out at vaccination sites across the state. Efforts are continuing to urge those who are hesitant about getting vaccinated to consult their personal physician. More than 35% of the Illinois population has now been fully vaccinated.
