The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,211 new cases of coronavirus across the state Tuesday with 19 additional deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department indicated there were 3 new cases Tuesday bringing the county total to 2,471. 6 cases remain active and there is 1 hospitalization and no new deaths. There were no new cases in Knox County Indiana Tuesday with the total stationary at 3,709 with no new deaths. Overall since the pandemic began in Illinois, there have been 1,343,988 cases with 22,066 deaths. Over 9.4 million vaccinations have now occured in Illinois since the pandemic began with over 40,000 people receiving shots Tuesday. The LCHD is hosting a COVID-19 drive-through vaccination clinic Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the main office located on US 50 west of Lawrenceville on Country Club Lane. Anyone age 16 and over who wishes to be vaccinated is invited to do so. People can sign up by visiting the LCHD website or Facebook page or drive-ups will be welcomed. The latest IDPH report shows Lawrence County with a little over 21% of it’s population vaccinated.
