Illinois State Police have now released information regarding a fatal two vehicle accident late last week in Lawrence County in which a Bridgeport man was killed. Reports indicate that the collision occured on westbound US 50 just east of Illinois Route 33 in Allison Township in eastern Lawrence County Friday just before 1:30 p.m. 55 year old Philip Cretors was traveling west on 50 and had stopped in the right lane and put his 2007 Dodge Dakota in park with it’s flashers activated. The vehicle was then hit by a westbound 2005 Chevrolet Uplander whose driver was 52 year old Holly Fessler of Petersburg Indiana. Both drivers were hurt and taken to an area hospital. Cretors died from his injuries at the hospital while Fessler had non-life threatening injuries. Investigation is continuing into the fatal mishap but authorities do say that Fessler has been charged with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle.
