The Illinois Department of Public Health reports 3,536 new cases of coronavirus across the state Wednesday with 31 additional deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department indicated there were no new cases Wednesday with the overall total staying at 2,451. 10 cases remain active with 2 people still hospitalized and no new deaths. 2 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Knox County Indiana Wednesday bringing the case total there to 3,648. There were no new deaths. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 1,288,934 cases of the disease with 21,570 deaths across Illinois. Over 7.4 million people have now been vaccinated in Illinois since the vaccine rollout began. Over 138,000 people received shots across the state Wednesday. The LCHD is increasing efforts to vaccinate local citizens. They will be holding a Moderna 1st and 2nd dose Vaccine Clinic Friday from 12 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Main Office on Country Club Lane on US 50 west of Lawrenceville.
