The Illinois Department of Public Health Tuesday reported 3,193 new cases of coronavirus across the state with 17 more deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department reported 1 case Tuesday bringing the county total to 2,451. 10 cases are active with 2 hospitalizations and no new deaths. Knox County Indiana also reported a single case Tuesday. Overall the IDPH reports there have been 1,285,398 cases of the disease statewide with 21,540 deaths. Over 7.3 million vaccinations have occured across Illinois since the vaccine rollout with over 100,000 people receiving shots Monday. The IDPH is moving forward with vaccinations across the state after pausing use of the Johnson and Johnson 1 shot vaccine. Those locally who have already received a J and J shot are fully vaccinated and do not need another shot. Only 4% of the shots given out across Illinois have been J and J. The LCHD is hosting a Pfizer 1st dose clinic Wednesday from 2 until 6 p.m. for those 16 and older and a Moderna 1st and 2nd dose vaccine clinic Friday for those 18 and older from noon until 3;30 p.m. Both will be at the LCHD main office on Country Club Road on US 50 west of Lawrenceville.
