The 2021 Illinois Spring Trout Fishing Season will open Saturday April 3rd at 57 ponds, lakes and streams throughout the state. The official opening is at 5 a.m. Central Time. All anglers must have a fishing license and an Inland Trout Stamp unless they are under the age of 16. The daily catch limit is 5 trout. Here in southeastern Illinois, there are two locations available for fishing-Beall Woods Lake at Beall Woods State Park south of Mt Carmel in Wabash County and the Sam Dale Conservation Area Trout Pond in Wayne County northwest of Fairfield.
