Nancy L. Darnell, age 74 of Lawrenceville, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on Saturday, March 27, 2021. She was born September 11, 1946 in Vincennes, IN to Eugene R. Foster and his wife Evelyn Maxine (Hoke) Foster.
On October 14, 1988, Nancy married Troy L. Darnell, and he preceded her in death.
Nancy was known as “Gerty” to those close to her. She got a kick out of having a nickname. When Nancy was able, she attended the Wesleyan Church of Lawrenceville. She worked in local restaurants for more than 30 years.
Surviving family includes: her son- Edwin York and wife Dawna of Robinson: one grandson: and her loving caregiver- Tammy McBride.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons (Charles Newell and Garriel York).
A graveside service for Nancy “Gerty” Darnell will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021 in the Bridgeport City Cemetery. Cunningham Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
