The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,577 new cases of coronavirus Wednesday with 43 additional deaths. The latest Lawrence County Health Department figures show only 1 new case Wednesday bringing the overall total to 2,361. 17 cases are active and there are no COVID-19 hospitalizations. 2,309 people have recovered from the disease and the death toll remains at 34. Knox County Indiana reported only a single case on Wednesday with the county total at 3,575 with no new deaths. Since the pandemic began, there have been 1,191,520 cases across Illinois with 20,626 deaths. As of Wednesday, the IDPH reports 2,900,341 vaccinations administered. The LCHD will host another Pfizer vaccination clinic Friday at it’s main location on Country Club Road just off of U.S. 50 west of Lawrenceville.
