The National Weather Service is continuing the Winter Weather Advisory for the WAKO listening area through Thursday morning. Mixed precipitation is expected with periods of snow, ice and freezing rain forecast. Road conditions are being characterized as slippery and hazardous in rural areas and on side streets and alleys in cities. Main roads were in fairly good condition but that could change. If traveling use caution and slow down. The conditions caused schools to be closed for the second day in a row for Lawrence and Knox Counties. Lawrence County Senior Centers are closed and the Lawrence Public Library will close early at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
