The Lawrence Unit #20 Board of Education met in special session Wednesday night at Lawrenceville High School and moved to return to in-person instruction next week after Christmas vacation. The district will resume classes at the various schools on Tuesday January 5th with the schedule that was in place when the move to remote learning occurred in November with buses running. Some students can still remain in remote learning if desired. The board also voted to look into implementing an Emergency Volunteer program in which screened and vetted volunteers from the community would be used as in-class monitors for absent teachers. Superintendent Doug Daugherty did indicate that this program would only be used by the district out of absolute necessity
