BAILEY READY FOR NEW ROLE IN SPRINGFIELD

109th District State Representative Darren Bailey is reminding his constituents here in Lawrence County and across the region that several new laws take effect in Illinois starting on Friday, January 1st. Among them is legislation requiring law enforcement to report relevant information and DNA data from local missing persons cases to the national level. Another new law expands the confidentiality act for victims of domestic violence to include sexual assault and stalking cases. A third new law limits the cost of a 30 day insulin supply in Illinois to $100. Bailey also says he is ready for his new role in state government next year. he will be sworn in as the new 55th District State Senator after his election in November. He replaces Dale Righter in that position when the state legislature is scheduled to meet on January 13th in Springfield.
