UNEMPLOYMENT UP IN LAWRENCE COUNTY

The latest individual county unemployment rates for November in southeastern Illinois have been released by the Illinois Department of Employment Security. The rate for Lawrence County went up from October to November. Joblessness was at 5.1% in October but rose to 5.5% in November. The November unemployment rate in 2019 was 4.7%. Unemployment also rose from October to December in neighboring Crawford County from 4.3% to 4.5%. However the jobless figures were stationary for Richland and Wabash counties from October to November at 4.4% and 4.1% respectively.
