The Bridgeport City Council met in regular session Tuesday at City Hall. Mayor Michael Crask reported that the city is dealing with problems at it’s sewage lagoon. The new pumps are continuing to get plugged up by small minnow fish causing suction area disruptions. Crask says the city has been in contact with engineers to try to alleviate the problem and he is not happy with the situation which has cost the city close to $1 million well over the original cost estimate. City Superintendent Shannon Selby reported that this is the final week for leaf pickup by city crews with Friday the last day. Candidate petitions for the upcoming city municipal election in April are due in to City Hall by the date of Monday December 21st. The council did enter into executive session for about 10 minutes and emerged to announce that $1000 will be given to full-time city employyes and $250 to part-time employees as Christmas bonuses.
