HIGHEST COVID-19 DAILY CASE TOTAL IN LAWRENCE COUNTY

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 10,573 new cases of coronavirus across the state Monday with 14 deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department Monday recieved notification of 45 county residents who tested positive-the highest single day case total ever. The cases are unrelated and all are under home quarantine with contact tracing underway. That brings the case total in Lawrence County to 517 positives with 151 of those active. 3 people are currently hospitalized while 357 have recovered. The death toll locally remains at 9. Again, Lawrence County residents are urged to wear masks in public, social distance 6 feet and over, and frequently wash hands and disinfect surfaces to help prevent the spread. Overall since the pandemic began, there have been 498,560 cases statewide with 10,210 deaths. Meanwhile the Indiana State Department of Health reported 35 new COVID-19 cases in Knox County Monday with the total cases at 1,181.
