LOCAL COVID-19 CASES NEAR 400

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 6,222 new cases of coronavirus across the state Monday with 20 deaths. The Lawrence County Health Department was notified of 14 Lawrence County residents who tested positive Monday. The cases are not related and all are under home quarantine with contact tracing underway. With the new cases, the LCHD indicates there have been 398 positives with 101 of those active. 3 people are hospitalized while 288 have recovered. The death count has been adjusted from 10 back to 9. All of Illinois will now be under stricter mitigations after Governor Pritzger and the IDPH announced that Region 2 will join the 10 other state regions at midnight Tuesday. Currently there have been a total of 423,502 cases of the disease since the pandemic began with 9,810 deaths.
