CUBS DROP 5-1 DECISION TO MARLINS

The Chicago Cubs season could come to an end Thursday at home at Wrigley Field. The Miami Marlins scored 5 times in the top of the 7th inning Wednesday afternoon on homers by Cory Dickerson and Jesus Aguilar to erase a 1-0 deficit and beat them 5-1 in their Wild Card series opener. The Cub offense was non-existent except for a 5th inning Ian Happ solo home run. Cub starter Kyle Hendricks took the loss going 6 1/3 innings. The Cubs look to remain alive Thursday as they host game 2 of the best of three series. Yu Darvish will go for the Cubs and Sixto Sanchez is set for Miami.
