Vincennes University says that Phase 1 of the new French Quarter Apartments project located along Second Street in Vincennes is nearly completed. Ground was broken on the student housing project in October of 2019 and the buildings should be completed within the next week. Students did start to move in at the beginning of the 2020 fall semester. Additional site work including more trees and plants around the area, a new fountain and bicycle storage area should done within three weeks. Once that is done, work on Phase 2 will begin. Phase 2 calls for the construction of four additional apartment buildings off First Street across from Phase 1. Dirt work began in the area last week.
