The Lawrence County Capital Classic Committee has informed WAKO Sports that the 2020 tournament sponsored by the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce has been cancelled. It was indicated that the IHSA Phase 4 restrictions on team travel and other health safety protocols made it impossible to host the annual post-Thanksgiving affair. The Cap Classic has been held each year at both Lawrenceville and Red Hill High schools since it began in 1989.
