Reports out of neighboring Crawford County indicate that there were multiple fatalities involved in an apparent police pursuit Thursday morning near Palestine. Initial information points to a vehicle leaving the roadway while being chased by authorities. The Illinois State Police are investigating the incident and have released no other details. Meanwhile the ISP say a Kansas Illinois woman was killed Wednesday morning when her vehicle was hit in the drivers side by a semi while merging from Illinois Route 1 onto eastbound Interstate 70 north of Marshall. The crash impact drove both vehicles off the road and into the median. 47 year old Jennifer Jines was pronounced dead at the scene while the Florida truckdriver was uninjured. Investigation is continuing into the mishap.
