Illinois State Police District 12 at Effingham has released its activity report for the month of July. Lawrence County is in District 12. During the month troopers answered 243 calls for service and initiated 743 incident investigations in the field. Enforcement figures indicate that there were 285 citations issued. 162 of those were for Speeding, 1 was for a Seat Belt Violation, 1 was for a Child Restraint Violation and 13 were for Distracted Driving. Troopers made 15 arrests and investigated 78 traffic crashes during July with one those a fatality.
