Three organizations from Lawrence County are among the recipients of 2020 Maxine Spitler Foundation grants. The announcements were made this week. 9 organizations total were awarded grants. Recieving over $2700 was the Lawrence County Humane Society to help fund its spay and neuter program, over $1800 goes to the Sumner Attendance Center P.E. Department for the purchase of equipment and over $1400 to the Red Hill Junior-Senior High School Music Department for buying instruments and sheet music. The Foundation recieves applications for funding each year. The applications are reviewed by an advisory board which then determines which applicants recieve the awards.
