There is some continuing good news in the fight against the coronavirus in Illinois. The State Department of Public Health reported Wednesday that there were 1,111 new cases of the disease. That is the lowest number of daily cases since early April. There were also 160 more deaths. Those totals bring the overall number of cases to 114,306 and the death total above 5000 at 5,083 since the pandemic began. Lawrence County remained stationary at 4 confirmed cases of the virus with all four victims having recovered. 351 people have been tested so far in the county with 339 negative results. There are 8 test results pending.
