The Lawrence County Memorial Hospital Board of Directors met earlier this month via tele-conference and recieved a report from Chief Financial Officer Larry Spour that the  medical facility in Lawrenceville lost just over $500,000 in March due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the associated costs. Hospital Chief Executive Officer Don Robbins indicated to the board that the costs included new labratory supplies and personal protective equipment among others. Robbins added that also contributing to the loss was the fact that a majority of the hospital elective services experienced a significant decrease in volume. A plan has been implemented to help address the situation. Two board members-Stan Williams and Ron Waldrop were reappointed to three year terms on the board while it was announced that longtime board member B.J. Shaffer would be stepping down off the board in June after 12 years of service.
