The Little Illini Conference has joined other conferences around the state of Illinois in formally cancelling spring sports for 2020. The move follows the IHSA cancellation of all spring state series tournaments and activities and the closing of all high schools for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. L.I.C. officials say that it is in the best interests of all league student-athletes to not attempt to schedule any sort of spring season schedule even if the closing order is lifted. The IHSA had left open the possibility that some schools might want to try and play some sports in late spring or early summer if the health situation changes, but admitted it would difficult, if not impossible to do.
