MOLINA LEADS CARDS OVER CUBS

Cardinal catcher Yadier Molina went 3 for 4 and drove in 2 runs with a single in the top of the sixth inning Friday afternoon to lead St Louis to a 2-1 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The win kept the Redbirds three games ahead of Milwaukee in the NL Central and dropped the third place Cubs to 5 out and two games out of the second NL wild card. The Cards handed the Cubs their fourth straight home loss while extending their winning streak to three. The Cubs did manage nine hits but could score only once on an error. Game three of the four game series is Saturday afternoon with Dakota Hudson (16-7) going for the Cardinals and Jose Quintana (13-8) for the Cubs. The game will be on Lite 103 WAKO beginning with the pregame at 12:45 p.m. Central Time 1:45 Eastern.
