Stanley Douglas Piper, age 67, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, formerly of Centralia, Illinois, received his ‘angel wings’ Friday, July 13, 2018 at the United Methodist Village-South Campus in Lawrenceville, Illinois, with his family by his side.

He was born March 22, 1951 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois, the son of Clair A. and Madeline (Boyd) Piper.

Stanley worked at the Kaskaskia Workshop in Centralia, Illinois.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clair A. Piper; paternal grandparents, James Cyrus and Mable Clare (Adamson) Piper; and maternal grandparents, William Edward and Katherine Elizabeth (O’Keefe) Boyd.

He is survived by his mother: Madeline L. Piper of Lawrenceville, Illinois; three brothers: Larry W. Piper of Limon, Colorado, Kenneth M. Piper of Olney, Illinois, and Michael S. Piper of Monticello, Utah; two sisters: Sandra K. Brasseur-Fraser of Vincennes, Indiana, and Patty Piper-Griggs of Lawrenceville, Illinois; three nephews: Justin Brasseur and his wife, Jannelle, Shane Griggs, and Shaun Griggs; a niece: Roxy Sheckells and her husband Deon; and great-nephew and niece: Luke and Bailey Brassuer. Stanley is also survived by his friends, family, and staff members of the Murray Center in Centralia, Illinois.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation is Wednesday from 10:00am until the service hour of 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Sumner Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to the Murray Center Activity Fund in Centralia, Illinois or Fight Colorectal Cancer.
