Jon Lester pitched 6 sharp innings and Jason Heyward homered to help the Chicago Cubs beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-0 in the first game of their four game weekend series at Miller Park. Javier Baez added a two run single to put the Cubs on top for good during a three run second inning. Lester improved to 1-0 after allowing three hits, striking out 6, and walking 1. Three Cub relievers each pitched an inning to complete the shutout. Game two is Friday with Kyle Hendricks going for the Cubs against Brandon Woodruff for Milwaukee.
