The Knox County Council gave the Vincennes YMCA VanGo program the other half of funds needed to break even by the end of the month.

Monday night, officials with VanGo told the Vincennes City Council they were $75,000 short for the year and needed the money to break even in order to ensure 2017 funding in order to keep operating.  The city council gave VanGo half the money Monday night and encouraged the county council to do the same.  The county council last night approved the other half of the money without hesitation.

Both councils acknowledged the growth and importance of the transportation system which provides 100,000 rides per year.  44% of those rides are people commuting to and from work.
