Patricia Jean “Pat” Snapp, age 84 of Vincennes, IN and formerly of Lawrence County, passed away Sunday, May 1.

 

 Patricia Jean “Pat” Snapp, age 84 of Vincennes, IN and formerly of Lawrence County, passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, May 1, 2016 in Lawrenceville at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. She was born in St. Thomas, IN to Francis and Cecelia (Gravel) Adams.

On April 27, 1963, Pat married Norman L. “Blubber” Snapp in Vincennes, IN. Norman preceded her in death in 1986.

Pat graduated from St. Rose Academy in Vincennes. She was a homemaker, but she also worked outside of the home until she retired just a few years ago. Pat had worked as a telephone operator, worked at Sears, and she owned and operated the Hilltop in Bridgeport with her husband for many years. After the Hilltop, she spent time working at Wal-Mart in Lawrenceville, Old National Bank, Dr. Hugh Mayr’s office, and then retired after working at Vincennes University.

Pat was a great cook. She had specialty dishes that she would prepare and share, especially her noodles.

Surviving family includes: her three daughters- Ginger Jackson and her husband Larry of Greenwood, IN; Nancy Richter and her husband Gregg of St. Charles, MO; and Jody Buchanan and her husband Bill of Lawrenceville: four grandchildren- Seth and Cole Jackson and Joseph and Leah Buchanan: two sisters-in-law- Peggy Headley and Betty Adams: and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents- Francis and Cecelia Adams: her husband- Norman “Blubber” Snapp: eight brothers: Gilbert, Clarence “Doc”, Clifford “Red”, Marlin “Short”, Richard “Dick”, Francis “Pud”, Robert “Bob”, and Lawrence “Larry”: and four sisters- Mary Catherine Morning-Cunningham, Bernice Elkins, Helen Mize, and Mildred Bishop.

A funeral service for Patricia Jean “Pat” Snapp will be held at 11:00 a.m. (CST) on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Cunningham-Young Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (CST). Burial will take place in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes.
