The Vincennes Community School Corporation moved one step closer in the process of renovating the towns aging four elementary schools. At last night’s school board meeting, representatives of  financial consultants Umbaugh and Associates addressed items that pertain to the elementary school renovation project. The total budget for the project is between 38 to 40 million dollars, with Riley Elementary accounting for only 2 million because it is a newer building that needs less work done. The three larger schools will account for approximately 12 million each.

VCSC Superintendent Greg Parsley explains this has been a tax neutral project from the very beginning and tax payers will not suffer from it.

Parsley says they hope to get started on the renovations as soon as this summer. He expects them to take no more than three and a half years to fully complete.
