The Vincennes Parks Board is compiling a list of improvements that are needed at 4-Lakes Park. Superintendent Steve Beaman says 4-Lakes is probably one of the most under utilized parks in the city. He says in order to draw people back to the park it was suggested they might add a splash park.

Beaman acknowledged that the park needs a “wow” factor to draw people back in. He says Architect Larry Donovan is in the process of compiling a list of cost estimates to replace the roof on the shelter house, add new sidewalks and lights, repair the tennis court and add a fishing dock. Beaman says they have a lot of kids who like to fish at 4-Lakes during the summer.

Due to the Parks Department’s limited budget that they will look to outside sources to assist with some of the planned improvements. At this time, Beaman says they have no timeline for when the work will begin. .
