CYCLOSPORIASIS OUTBREAK

The Illinois Department of Public Health has recieved confirmation of approximately 23 cases that appear to be linked to a multi-state outbreak of cyclosporiasis, an intestinal disease caused by a parasite. Cases have been reported across the state of people becoming ill starting back in mid-May. The initial investigation indicates a link to the consumption of store-brand packaged garden salads from Aldi, Hy-Vee and Jewell-Osco grocery stores. The IDPH says that anyone who consumed  those type salads and develops watery diarrhea should contact a health care provider for testing and treatment.
