Benton attorney Courtney Cox has now conceded the March 17th Second Judicial Circuit Judge Primary Election to Matthew Hartrich of Crawford County. In the race for the Republican nomination, Hartrich won by 133 votes in the voting over the 12 counties in the circuit. Because of the close margin, Cox did opt for a recount of votes in 6 of the 12 counties including Lawrence. After recounts in Edwards, Richland, and Wayne counties, Cox conceded making the three other county recounts unnecessary. The State Board of Elections had already certified Hartrich as the winner. He will now run in the upcoming November 3rd general election against no Democratic opposition to replace the retiring David Overstreet in the 2nd Circuit.
