FLOOD WATCH OVER; FLOOD WARNINGS BEGIN

The National Weather Service has discontinued the Flood Watch for the WAKO listening area. The threat for severe weather and extensive rainfall has ended. A Flood Warning has been issued for the Embarras River at Lawrenceville until early next week. The river is on the rise due to extensive rainfall in the upper Embarras River Basin and across southeastern Illinois. The Embarras expected to rise above it’s 30 foot flood stage this weekend. A Flood Warning has also been issued for the Wabash River at Vincennes starting early next week. The river at Vincennes is on the rise and is expected to rise above it’s 16 foot flood stage early next week.
