Leroy Cox, age 78, of Mattoon, Illinois passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Palm Terrace in Mattoon, Illinois. He was born on July 29, 1941 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Floyd Cox and Julia (Johnson) Tomlinson.
Leroy worked as an aid at a nursing home in Peoria, Illinois. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Bridgeport.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include three sisters, Judy Massey and husband, Dennis, of Vincennes, Indiana, Shirley Devin of St. Francisville, Illinois, and Sarah Tomlinson of Claremont, Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The body will be cremated, with private services at a later date. Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois is in charge of the arrangements.
