Carolyn “Kay” Dixon, age 82 of Lawrenceville, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at the United Methodist Village- North Campus. She was born October 26, 1935 in Lawrenceville to Roy and Delpha (Newland) Dixon.
Kay had worked at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. in the accounting department. She then worked and retired from the IRS, where she worked for the Department of Chief Counsel. Following her retirement, she relocated to Pensacola, FL. Later in life, Kay moved back to Lawrence County to be closer to family due to her health.
Surviving relatives include two nephews; Mike Rand and wife Jin Ju of Des Moines, IA and Richard Rand and his wife Amy of Lawrenceville; and one niece- Linda Rand of Washington, IN. She also had several nieces and nephews. She had two nieces of whom she was especially close to, Shaina Rand and Natalie Jacobsen and her husband Brady.
She was preceded in death by: her parents- Roy and Delpha Dixon: three siblings- Robert “Bob” Dixon, Donna Rand, and Jean Robinson: and her best friend- Simone LeRoux.
There will be a private burial for Carolyn “Kay” Dixon in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Cunningham-Young Funeral Home of Lawrenceville is assisting the family with arrangements.
