A Robinson man arrested in a shooting in Bellmont in September has been sentenced to three years in prison on separate drug charges. Mt. Carmel Police charged 33-year-old Christopher Shaffer with possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and a Lawrence County warrant for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. He was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 13-00 block of Cherry Street for a report of an unwanted person. When police arrived, Shaffer was found in a vehicle behind the residence. He was first arrested on the outstanding warrant and then charged with the drug offenses after the vehicle was searched.
