Speed on Bruceville area roads discussed by the commissioners

reduced-speed-ahead

Knox County roads that are bonded with Sunrise Coal have some bruceville residents concerned.

Last night at the Knox County Commissioners meeting, Donnie Boyles approached the commissioners about the need for reduced speeds on roads such as Davis, Clark, and Morgan located outside of Bruceville. The roads are used by Sunrise to transport coal in and out of the Bruceville mine.   Some of the area’s residents feel the traffic produced by the mine workers and coal trucks mixed with traffic from the general public is creating an unsafe situation. Sheriff Mike Morris agreed that reduced speed zones may be necessary.  The sheriff and commissioners have decided to start taking traffic surveys of the area to see what needs to be done.
