Trula Mae Summers, 88, of Bruceville, passed away at 11:56 am Saturday November 12, 2016 at Amber Manor Nursing Center in Petersburg.
She was born October 17, 1928 in Emison to Daniel and Elva (Harper) Hatfield.
Trula enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved to garden. She raised produce that she took to the farmers market in which people enjoyed her home grown produce and was known as an excellent seamstress. Her memberships included the Moose and the VFW.
Surviving are her children, Carolyn Shepard and her husband, Terry of Bruceville, Susie Toler and her husband, Craig of Fishers; her step sons, Mike and Randy Summers of Edwardsport; her brother, Nolan Hatfield of Lawrenceville; her grandchildren Vanessa (Andrew) Shepard-Smith, Brandon (Jessica) Delisle, Laci (Joey) Delisle, and Clinton Edmonson, along with seven great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, Tom Dennison, second husband, Norman Briner, and third husband, Robert Summers; and her brothers and sisters, Virgil Hatfield, Delores Hatfield, Shirley Miller, Dan Hatfield Jr., and Ilene Hatfield.
A Celebration of Trula’s Life will be held at Noon Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Lowell Thomas officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.goodwinfamilyfh.com
