Kenneth Gregg Reel, 73, of 2991 S. SR 241, Wheatland, went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2015.

He was born May 19, 1942 in Daviess County to Thomas Frederick and Virginia (Ogle) Reel.

Ken was a graduate of the Monroe City High School. After graduating he served in the Air Force for four years and then joined the Navy for two years. After serving in the military, he farmed with his father and brother until 1977, then farmed in NW Missouri until moving back in 1988 where he opened Ken’s Small Engine repair near Monroe City and he also was a motor carrier for the Vincennes Sun Commercial.  Ken’s favorite hobby was fishing and was a member of the Monroe City First Church of God.

Surviving is his wife, Rita (Church) Reel, whom he married June 19, 1970; his children, Rachel Ferris and her husband, George  of Greer, South Carolina; and Eric Reel of Vincennes; his brothers and sisters, Tom Reel of Missouri, Jim Reel of Iowa, David Reel of Vincennes, Marilyn Earley of Odon, and Anne Reel of Elkhart; and his grandchildren, Maya Ferris and Candace Carlson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday October 23, 2015 at the Monroe City First Church of God with Rev. Mark Nielson officiating.   Burial will follow in Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service on Friday at the church.
