Orris R. Brown, 99, Passed away on July 25, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Orris was born on June 3, 1916 in Glendive Montana the son of Ray and Nellie (Newkirk) Brown. He married Dorothy (Hendrickson) Brown and she preceded him in death July 20, 1992. Orris was a world war two army veteran, that retired after many years of working at Essex Wire Plant and Blackford Window Glass. Orris was a member of the Franklin Heights Christian Church. He was also a Bicknell Golf Club member for many years and belonged to The Wabash Valley Cataract Support Group. Survivors include his son Joseph E. Brown and wife Helen N. (Moore); grandchildren Julie Russell and Todd Brown; four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sister Lena Gaines. Orris was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Elizabeth Sandefer, and Fannie Pearl Brown; Brothers Irvine Brown, Lechester Brown, and Adrian Brown. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Tuesday July 28, 2015 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral home 505 Main St. Vincennes, IN. Friends May visit with Orris’s family from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. Private family interment to follow. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice.
