Ila Jean Shick, age 95, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Aperion Care in Bridgeport, Illinois. She was born on June 01, 1927 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (Wright) Harvey. She married Clifford E. Shick on February 11, 1946, and he preceded her in death on January 12, 1994.
Ila was a farmwife and homemaker, and she worked as an aid at the United Methodist Village. She was a member of the Billett United Methodist Church, where she was the secretary for several years. Her hobbies included crocheting, crafting, and reading.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one brother, Francis Harvey; one sister, Martha Wells; one daughter, Deborah Sherman; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Shick; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Shick and Kody Shick.
Survivors include four sons, David Shick and wife, Julie, Jack Shick, Henry Shick and wife, Belinda, and Mike Shick and wife, Casey all of Lawrenceville, Illinois; two daughters, Annette Farrar and husband, Tom of St. Francisville, Illinois and Billie Jo Tate and husband, Tim of Sumner, Illinois; one brother, Arthur Harvey of Santa Cruz, New Mexico; 20 grandchildren, Andy Shick and wife, Chrissy, Tad Shick and wife, Kristal, Chris Shick and wife, Ginger, Jackie Ann Shick, Jeanie Ferrell and husband, Tyler, Will Shick and wife, Angie, Scott Shick and wife, Andrea, Matt Shick and wife, Whisper, Ashley Puckett and husband, William, Jamie Worland and husband, Teddy, T.J. Shick, Megan Tate, Aubrey Bedwell, Bryce Bedwell, Hunter Shick and wife, Christina, Haven Shick, Paul Sherman, Jr., Bradley Sherman, Justin Sherman, and Tabatha Coan and husband, Rob; and 43 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM CDT at the Billett Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center & Wig Shoppe, Lawrenceville Senior Citizens, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
