National Nutrition Month

  • March is dedication as the National Nutrition Month.
  • National Nutrition Month is an annual campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. During the month of March, everyone is invited to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits.
  • This year’s theme, Personalize Your Plate, promotes creating nutritious meals to meet individuals’ cultural and personal food preferences. Everyone is encouraged to make informed food choices and develop sound eating and physical activity habits they can follow all year long.
  • There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition and health. We are all unique with different bodies, goals, backgrounds and tastes! And a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist can tailor a healthful eating plan that is as special as you are.
  • Lawrence County Memorial Hospital is committed to helping patients understand how nourishing, well-balanced meals can improve their treatment, recovery and quality of life. That’s why they maintain a part-time registered dietitian to provide inpatient nutrition counseling during your hospital stay.  Outpatient nutrition services are also provided with a physician’s referral.
